Spell It Right is a friendly spelling game that feels more like a relaxed spelling bee with friends than a school test. Pick a theme — Around the House, In the Kitchen, Garden & Nature, Remember When, Tricky Words, Sound-Alikes and more — then choose how you want to play, or let Mix it up surprise you.

There are six ways to spell: tap letter tiles to spell a picture, fill in the missing letters, pick the correct spelling, listen to a word read aloud and type it, find the typo in a newspaper sentence, or choose between sound-alike words like there, their and they're. After every word you get a Spelling Secret, a memory trick such as “there's a rat in separate”, that helps the word stick.

There is no timer and no game over. Hints remove wrong letters or fill one in, Show me spells a word for you, and any word you miss comes back for one more try. Words you find tricky are saved to My Practice List so you can come back to them. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard to suit your pace.

Spell It Right Questions

Is this spelling game free?

Yes. It is completely free to play online — no payment, no ads, and no account required.

What kinds of spelling puzzles are there?

Six: Picture Spell (tap letter tiles), Missing Letters, Which Is Right?, Hear & Spell (listen and type), Fix the Typo and Sound-Alikes. Mix it up rotates through them.

Do I need sound for Hear & Spell?

No. With sound on, the word is read aloud by your device's voice. With sound off, the game shows the meaning and an example sentence instead, so you can still play.

What happens if I get a word wrong?

Nothing bad. Wrong letters simply slide back, Hint helps you along, and Show me spells the word for you. Missed words come back once at the end of the round and are saved to My Practice List.

Is it suitable for seniors?

Yes. It was designed for older adults: large letters and buttons, no timer, gentle feedback, familiar themes and a memory tip after every word.
